This Halloween, my family decided to go with a group costume that we’ve been thinking about for a long time (and by long time, I mean over 5 years). This year our Halloween costume theme will be….
I will be going as Elsa, the Queen of Arendelle, from Disney’s Frozen. Below you can see my full costume!
For my Elsa costume, I will be wearing the Elsa dress that my sister got for me last Christmas. My sister and I have acted out Frozen every December since it came out, so she got this dress for those performances. Now that we’ve decided to do a Frozen theme for Halloween 2019, this dress has two uses!
I originally wanted to buy a pair of heels for this costume but decided against it since they would only be used this one time. Instead, I decided to wear a pair of old pointe shoes, which are not only somewhat fitting for the costume, but also very comfortable to get around in (which could not be said of the heels I originally planned to buy).
Even though they were made for kids, I also decided to re-wear an Elsa water-shooting armband. I used this last year for me and my sister’s production of Frozen. It was definitely a little tight on my non-child arms, but it worked very well!
For my hair and makeup, I simply decided to copy Elsa’s from the movie. I already have relatively blonde hair (nowhere close to Elsa’s, but still blonde), so I decided on a French braid which I will pull over my shoulder. I am considering adding some snowflake pins, but we’ll see how that goes the day of. I tried to keep the makeup as natural as possible, but decided to use purple eyeshadow, blush, highlighter, and berry lipstick. I also decided to brush my eyebrows and curl my lashes to give me the full Elsa look. I’m not into wearing makeup on a regular basis, but this should be fine for the purpose.
Pointe Shoes: Grishko
Water-Shooting Armband: Disney Store
Snowflake Hair Pins: Amazon
For the past few years, I’ve started wearing pajamas which match my Halloween costume. This year, I decided to wear the “Just Let It Go” sweatshirt that Elsa wears in Wreck-It Ralph 2. Despite the fact that I despise Wreck-It Ralph 2 and the obviousness that it is a money-making scheme, I have to admit I love the princess pajamas. I received this sweatshirt for Christmas to match the Anna “finish each other’s sandwiches” t-shirt that I got my sister.
I will be wearing this with a pair of blue sweatpants to complete the ensemble. I will also be wearing some blue sparkly slippers. The sweatpants are from GAP and the slippers are from Pottery Barn Teen.
For my Halloween gift this year, my mother gave me the Skull & Crossbones sheet set from Pottery Barn Teen. I talked about this sheet set in my Halloween Room Décor post.
