As a curly girl, it is sometimes difficult for me to find my favorite hair products in my local stores. For instance, my favorite conditioner (Alberto VO5 Moisture Milks Moisturizing Conditioner in the scent Strawberries & Cream), is nowhere to be found at my local stores and is $8 on Amazon. I used some other conditioners of the same brand, but wasn’t satisfied with the scent. So, I did a little searching and found the exact product for $1 on Walgreens! I like a lot of the other products on the site, so I started ordering a “beauty box” every season. Below are the products I decided to order for summer and why!
#1 – five bottles of Alberto VO5 Moisture Milks Moisturizing Conditioner in the scent Strawberries & Cream
For my first beauty box, I didn’t want to order too many conditioners because I wasn’t sure how long they would last me. I discovered that, on average, one bottle shared between my sister and I will last for about a week. I will likely order more bottles at a time in the future to keep me from placing a new order every month, but this amount suited me for the remainder of the summer.
#2 – Shea Moisture’s Jamaican Black Castor Oil Reparative Leave-in Conditioner
This summer, the heat, the sun, and of course my weekly application of a hair lightening product took a toll on my curls. I turned to the internet for advice and realized that I should probably be using a leave-in conditioner daily. I decided to try this one from Shea Moisture, which is an awesome curly girl-focused hair company. I have to use quite a bit (either because my hair is long or my hair is super damaged from years of not caring for it…. or both), but it does seem to work very well. My hair is soft, silky, and smooth after using this product.
#3 – Shea Moisture’s Mongongo Hempseed High Porosity Masque
In addition to deciding I needed a leave-in conditioner to fix my hair, I decided that I needed a hair mask. Hair masks can help repair your hair as well as prevent further damage to it. I use this hair mask twice weekly and have noticed an improvement in my hair.
#4 – Shea Moisture’s Manuka Honey Masque
I have yet to use this particular hair mask, but if it is as good as the aforementioned one from the same brand, I’m sure it will be wonderful!
Thank you so much for reading and be sure to check back for my autumn beauty box!
